About Me

Welcome!

I’m Karen Lockhart, and I am a twenty plus years cancer survivor.  Numerous friends and family have suggested that I start a blog in order to share information about health, nutrition, and cancer.  At first, the idea of writing seemed intimidating.  I don’t have a title other than “wife, mother, friend, cancer survivor, grandma”.  I don’t have a degree in nutrition or medicine.  I also don’t know the technical side of blogging.  Then I began to realize what I do know.  I do know the fear of facing invasive breast cancer and the difficult choice to refuse conventional medicine and to seek out nutritional therapies. I do know what I had to change in my diet and lifestyle to beat cancer. I do know how I’ve had to continue to learn and grow in order to stay cancer free. I also know and keep learning about some of the best strategies to continue aging well, including getting a health coach certification and pursuing a fitness instructor certification. But the biggest motivation behind this blog is I want to give people hope and share what works to keep us healthy. My passion is to provide education and inspiration so no one has to suffer unnecessarily, either emotionally or physically, as we often do.

If any of these topics relate to you, please sign up to receive email updates on new blog posts. I haven’t put everything up yet but will be regularly posting new material that will be practical for your daily life and encouraging you to make healthy choices.

As I stated above, I am not a doctor and will not be giving medical advice. I am only sharing my own personal story and what has helped me and my family.
