Hey Everybody!
I’d like to start out with offering a huge apology for not posting regularly as I planned to do! My original intention was to post weekly or bi-weekly in order to provide ongoing practical information and tips on living a healthy lifestyle and regaining and maintaining health. Obviously, this has not been happening! I could list all kinds of reasons (okay, excuses!), but instead will endeavor to do better! I really do care about you and want to pass on whatever knowledge I’ve learned to help you in any way that I can. Please bear with me!
The thyroid update:
As you know from previous blog posts, I went on a thyroid roller coaster several years ago and tried an old Russian remedy as an experiment that would possibly regulate my thyroid gland. It really did work! I recently had my annual physical and, once again, all the thyroid markers were within normal ranges! Yay!!!
Another factor I discovered was that gluten was affecting me – something I hadn’t experienced before. I had periods of fatigue, like I had a slight flu or virus, with symptoms like the aches and fatigue of your immune system fighting off something, but couldn’t put my finger on anything. No fever, just feeling blah. I decided to eliminate gluten just to see what would happen and have never felt better! From what I’ve read, gluten intolerance can crop up on us just due to aging and being exposed to so many disturbances throughout life. What took me so long to figure out it was gluten was thinking I would be experiencing some kind of gut or digestive problem, not fatigue. I can easily live without eating wheat or other things containing gluten, instead focusing on other whole, healthy grains and natural foods.
If you are experiencing any thyroid problems, please consider eliminating gluten. It just might help!
The Russian walnut tincture is also so inexpensive and easy to make, that should also be considered.
Take care and be healthy in all your relationships!
I look forward to sharing more information with you soon!

Great article! FYI Send future blog posts to karen.a.rode@gmail.com. I’m getting away from yahoo mail since it is now so cluttered with ads:)

Hi I was wondering if you stay on your medication while doing this protocol or cut it in half, or stop taking it all together? Thanks Laurie

I had discontinued my thyroid hormone prescription when my thyroid level went too high, so wasn’t on any when I did this. I am not a doctor so can’t advise you on whether to discontinue your medication. This is just my experience. This protocol can be taken either way.
